Frequently Asked Questions
Let’s take the mystery (and pressure) out of the process.
What is ADHD?
ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a different way of thinking, learning, and responding to the world. It affects things like focus, memory, organization, time management, emotional regulation, and getting started on tasks. Everyone experiences it differently, and no two people with ADHD are exactly alike.
It’s not about being lazy, undisciplined, or broken. It’s about understanding how your mind works and finding tools and strategies that fit. People with ADHD are often creative, passionate, intuitive, and resilient, especially when given the chance to build on how they naturally think and process.
At Discover You ADHD Life Coaching, we take a strengths-based and personalized approach. Together, we explore what’s getting in the way and build systems that match how you learn, think, and thrive. Coaching is a safe space to get curious, grow your confidence, and discover what’s possible.
“What exactly is ADHD Life Coaching?
ADHD coaching is a supportive partnership where we explore what’s working, what’s not, and what might help you move forward in ways that actually fit how you think and operate.
- Strengths-based
- Collaborative and personalized
- Practical strategies you can try right away
- Encouragement, not instruction
You’re the expert on your life. I’m here to help you discover what works best for you.
How is this different from therapy?
Quick take: Therapy helps you process the past. Coaching helps you move forward.
- Therapy is for healing, emotional support, and mental health treatment
- Coaching is for identifying goals and building strategies for today and the future
- Many clients benefit from using both
- If concerns come up that fall outside of coaching, I’ll let you know, and a referral to a therapist or other professional may be suggested
Coaching isn’t a substitute for therapy, but it can be a powerful partner to it.
Do I need a formal ADHD diagnosis to work with you?
No diagnosis required. I work with:
- Individuals with an ADHD diagnosis
- Those who self-identify or suspect ADHD
- People with executive function challenges
- Anyone feeling stuck and ready to make a change
If something’s not working and you’re ready to explore what could, you’re welcome here.
What happens during a coaching session?

- Zoom or phone
- A supportive conversation that is curious, collaborative, and always centered on you.

- Students and adults with ADHD
- Individuals with executive function or study skills challenges
- Educators and professionals who support neurodivergent learners

to find what fits you best.
What if I forget everything we talk about?
That’s okay and totally normal. You’re not expected to remember everything. Here’s what we will do:
● Build tools that help you hold onto the important stuff
● Find ways to capture ideas in the moment so you’re not relying on memory
● Create supports that actually work with your brain
You don’t have to be “on top of it all” to benefit from coaching. We start where you are and build from there.
What if I’m bad at follow-through?
You’re in the right place.
● Coaching is about progress, not perfection
● We experiment to find what actually helps you follow through
● Tiny wins matter. Momentum starts small.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, sessions are flexible and remote
● Conducted over Zoom using your preferred screen device
● No commuting required
● Please dress as you would for an in-person meeting
● Pajamas are perfect for relaxing, but let’s save them for after our session
How long do people usually work with you?
It depends on your needs.
● While every journey is different, coaching is most effective over at least three months. This gives us time to experiment, troubleshoot, and create sustainable systems together.
● You choose the pace and timeline.
Can I try a session before committing?
Yes! Complimentary Consultations are available.
● Get a feel for coaching
● Ask questions
● Decide if it’s a good fit
What if I still have questions?
That’s totally okay. You’re welcome to reach out by email, phone, or book a complimentary consultation. I’d be happy to chat.
- There’s no pressure to commit
- Just an honest conversation to help you decide if coaching feels like the right next step
Coaching works best when you’re ready to start making changes, and I’m here to help you explore that possibility.
